Howard Tankelhoff, buyer, joined Consolidated Clothiers in 2017 after knowing Frank Mousa for more than a decade.

Howard and Frank met through the industry and developed a friendship and mentor relationship that is still cherished today. A veteran merchant, retailer and nationwide buyer in the retail and off-price industry for men’s, women’s and children’s footwear for more than 30 years, Howard’s greatest asset has been his ability to create and maintain strong industry relationships with shoe executives to build a meaningful network of business partners. 

From a buying perspective, Howard distinguishes himself through strong negotiating skills, a clear vision for emerging trends, and insight into assessing merchandise mix in the marketplace. He has 25 years of experience in the off-price industry, including Ross Stores and Gabriel Brothers, by having owned and operated four Nine West retail stores in Northern California. Frank built his professional foundation at Wohl Shoe Company for 15 years by working with leased shoe departments at Macy’s in New York and California as well as Gottchalks Stores in Central California.
